Vueltiaito n.4. A Colombian vueltiao hat for babies

Number 4 in my vueltiaíto series was constructed with handmade strands of black and yellow cotton fabric, similar to the colors found on the traditional Colombian vueltiao hat.

According to U.S. standard growth charts for boys’ head circumference, this hat should fit most babies from 6 to 9 months of age. It may fit some babies up to 12 months of age, but of course baby may not be willing to wear any hat by then. Please note that this is just a guideline; every baby grows at a different rate and you should measure your baby’s head before purchasing this item.

Approximate hat dimensions:

Head circumference: 18.25 inches (46.5 cms)
Crown to brim length: 5.75 inches (14.5 cms)

Care information: Before construction of the hat, I have pre-shrunk all fabrics by machine washing in the delicate cycle and tumble drying in low heat. The hat is very sturdy and can be folded and rolled like the traditional vueltiao. However, I would recommend to hand wash it and air dry it.
